The first game will be on Wednesday 4th September as we host Meltham B in the Examiner League (Drew is the Captain). This will be followed by Belgrave on the 11th in the Watkinsons (me as skipper), the John Newsome Cup u1200s on the same day and u1500s on the 18th. The Keddie Cup returns on the 25th (me again for Holmfirth).
We have a bye in the Yorkshire League this month
Fixtures can be found: ECF League Management System (englishchess.org.uk)
It is a packed schedule in the League and it does not cover the Calderdale League (Monday run by Greg) and Yorkshire League (Saturday – myself as Captain and we are at home to Dewsbury 12th Oct).
If you want to play, speak to your Captain. As usual I will advertise in the Whatsapp Matches Chat.
With more competitions running we have made the decision to reduce the teams as players can now pick and choose more. Many of those in the Watkinsons league have decided not to play in the Examiner as well.
There are plenty of matches for those u1500 graded and u1200. The Newsome Cup has had to split nights due to demand, so there are still places for those wanting to sign up.
As ever, those who want to represent the different grading levels at County, let me know and I will pass onto the relevant County Captain.
Club night is back on a Wednesday and we are picking up again with the holiday season coming to a close.
Finally the BBC are launching a new show and want volunteers.
