The season starts once more in September, as we return to the Stumble Inn.
Junior sessions resume from 6pm on Wednesdays, led by Dave Booth, our ever-present Junior Manager. From 7pm, club nights bring adults and juniors together. Everyone is welcome, whether you are new to the game or returning after time away.
We currently have some pre-season friendlies running to help people get back into shape, so please pop along. As ever, we have people playing at all levels and dedicated coaching for those who want it.
In terms of competitions, there will be plenty on if you want competitive play.
Wednesday Huddersfield League: We continue in the Watkinson, Examiner, David Keddie, Bill Lumley, KO and a plethora of individual competitions. Fixtures go on for much longer this year, running from September to June. That is unsurprising, considering the League has 3/5 County Captains playing and we want players warm for Finals Day in June. Note: if you want to play County, this is the right league to get noticed!
Monday Calderdale League: Again, we combine with Honley, Huddersfield and Wakefield to take on the Calderdale teams. Home matches will either be at Lindley or Honley Liberal Clubs, with the odd match transferred to the Stumble.
Saturday Yorkshire League: We all saw sense this season, with Huddersfield, Holmfirth, Honley and a good portion of Manchester merging into Huddersfield & District A, B and C. The A team is in Division 1, which is incredibly strong and competitive. They will play from Lindley Liberal Club, with the Bs and Cs at the Stumble. We are all very excited for this and will compete in all divisions.
Sunday U18s: David Kilmartin is leading an HDCA junior team around Yorkshire in the U18s league.
Your key Holmfirth contacts for the season are:
- Dave Booth – Junior Manager
- Gaz Taylor – Saturday C team Captain and Treasurer
- Drew Batley – Examiner Captain
- Steve Westmoreland – Club Chair, Saturday B team Captain, Watkinson Captain and Rapidplay Captain. Also Yorkshire U1850s Captain and Kirklees outdoor winter team Captain (yes, you read that right).
